Phthalates in Sex Toys

by Cherrie · No Comments

Phthalates is a chemical put into many soft vinyl and latex products. It keeps them from drying out and cracking but can also break down over time and make them leach onto fabrics, woods, and even melt other products.

Many speculate that Phthalates can harm if you if ingested in severe quantities for a long duration. Although there is no scientific evidence to prove that short term use is harmful manufacturers are still making products free of phthalates. Phthalates is typically found in the mass produced cheaper “novelty” toys labeled as Jelly, Cyber skin, and other soft rubbery dildos and vibrators, but some Jelly type products are made with new forms of plastics that do not contain Phthalates.

The European Government has banned the use of Phthalates in sex toys. But, Phthalates are found in all kinds of household items too; basically anything with a strong plastic smell has Phthalates in it. But there have been cases where using them in sex toys has caused problems. They have been labeled as endocrine disruptors and although it would take a massive amount to harm a healthy person they are typically latex materials involved as well and you could have reaction from that. Also sex toys with Phthalates are bad for pregnant women because of chance the chemical can interact with the fetus once inserted.

We want to provide you with a wide selection of products to suit your needs as well. That is why we list on each one of our products whether it contains Phthalates or not. We have several adult toys to fit your desires that are free from Phthalates. The Mini G Spot Vibrator, Waterproof Slender G, the Vibrating Jelly Egg in various colors, and the Mini Mite in White are just a few of the toys we offer. · If you are concerned about any toys you all ready own, there is no need to throw them away. You can use a condom for use with any of your toys, we recommend that, it helps your toys last longer and is safer if you happen to share.
