Are you a stingy Valentine? You know, you wait ’til the very last minute and buy something totally generic for the love of your life, just to feel like you fulfilled some trumped up holiday obligation? That love of your life, being the kind, loving person they are will smile politely and act as if you made some huge sacrifice in order to save your feelings. But inside they are longing for something that is going to sweep them off their feet. Well, they deserve it. They put up with your stingy ass all year didn’t they?

Do something different this year. Being extravagantly romantic doesn’t have to be extravagantly expensive. It’s the romance that counts. You have two weeks to pull something unforgettable together so start now. Here are some ideas to juice up your imagination!

Make a home made card. You don’t have to be a world class artist, just do it. Get goofy, or mushy and create something that will surprise and delight your partner that you actually made an extra effort. If you don’t know what to say, look up romantic poems on the internet and copy one. Better yet, just get inspiration and write your own. Combine that with a single red rose and some decadent dark chocolate and you will earn so many more points than if you just picked up some Hallmark card at the drugstore.

If making a card doesn’t seem feasible to you, then write a list of the 101 things you love about your partner. Read it out loud while they are soaking in a nice hot bath that you’ve prepared for them. Dry them off, massage them with some luscious massage oil, and you’ll both be on your way to places where dreams are made! Don’t forget the roses and chocolate though!

Send flowers, even if it’s just a single red rose to her at work. Women LOVE to have others see how much you think about them and it will brighten their mood. Then, arrange to meet her after work for dinner, then take her home for dessert. The dessert is both of you with some decadent chocolate body topping of course! An even sweeter touch to this is to gift her with some lingerie in the morning that she can wear to work under her work clothes. It will keep her feeling sexy, and you’ll get all hot and bothered every time you think of how she looks under those work clothes!

Get a small decorative box and fill it with short sweet love sayings that you write out one by one and fold into squares, or roll up and tie with ribbon. Gift her with that when you give her the flowers and chocolate and let her know that if she misses you or needs some extra love, to just pull one of the notes out for the day.
